# Translation update runbook

Original fictional example from Derrick.dk, 11 October 2026.
Not a Webflow import or an automatic translation service.

## Before the edit

Record the page, source locale, target locales, translation mode, source owner and reviewers. Keep the existing source and any independently written local copy. Confirm access, intended translation triggers and exclusion scopes against the current Webflow documentation.

## Worked source change

English headline: Websites for growing teams → Websites for international teams.
English action: Book a call → Talk about your new market.
Prepared French headline: Des sites pour les équipes en croissance → Des sites pour les équipes internationales.
Prepared French action: Réserver un appel → Parlons de votre nouveau marché.
Internal reference: NL-SERVICE-01. It is unchanged in this example and marked as excluded from AI translation. This does not demonstrate all inheritance or override behaviour.

## Run the rehearsal

1. Use a test page or agreed test version; record existing copy.
2. Make the source edit and use the documented translation workflow.
3. Inspect each target page after translation has finished. In one-time mode, decide how to update the existing translation; in continuous mode, review the source-based result.
4. Read the offer, action, form, confirmation, metadata and destinations. Check actual target-language layout.
5. Record deliberate local differences and reviewer approval.
6. Check locale and CMS publishing states separately. Follow the agreed release process.
7. Inspect the published locale and retain the evidence.

## When something differs

Record what you expected, what happened, the content scope, mode and trigger. Check permissions and available translation allowance without copying credentials into this file. Decide whether the result is an intentional local difference, a stale translation or an implementation issue. Assign an owner before publishing that change.
