A note for clients

Please check messages claiming to be from me

Someone is using a different email address to impersonate me and contact clients about supposed website updates and payments. Those messages are not from me.

Fitness & memberships

Fitness website design with Webflow.

I design fitness websites around the way people join: booking a trial, choosing a programme or starting a membership. The website, payment and access systems need clear responsibilities beyond the checkout.

The page has a job to do

From choosing a plan
to knowing what’s next.

Gym and studio website journeys

Gym website design starts with the visit someone wants to arrange. Show locations, trial or booking options and what happens next, then follow the request through confirmation.

Fitness memberships beyond checkout

Agree which system owns payments, member access and CRM or app data. Fitness website development should include retry, cancellation and handoff checks alongside a successful sign-up.

Selected work / Aurum

Make the trial booking
easy to understand.

For Aurum, I designed a Webflow website that explains its fitness offering and gives visitors a route to a trial booking. The work included scheduling connections and feedback forms.

The useful design work is turning a distinctive offer into understandable pages while keeping the booking route usable on phones.

Make the connections useful

Less copying.
Better handoffs.

A successful checkout and a successful membership handoff are different things. Agree which provider owns booking, payment, access and member records, then test the connections.

Talk through your setup

Bookings and trial enquiries

Make locations, appointment options and the next step clear. Scope the connection around your current scheduling provider and the team confirming each request.

Discuss a website build

Membership and payment connections

Scope the access provider, payment-confirmation events and any existing-member migration. A marketing CMS is one part of this arrangement.

CRM and app handoff

Map the agreed member details and identifiers to the receiving systems. Give support a way to find delayed or failed handoffs.

A fitness website and membership launch review

Check the offer and the complete member journey. Use the worked test matrix below to plan the failure cases as well as a normal sign-up.

A practical starting point

Fitness membership launch test matrix

A website, payment service and membership system need to agree about what happens next. Use these scenarios with the providers and policies in your actual setup.

Completed fictional membership test plan. Expected outcomes are examples to adapt, not live payment results or Body by Ciara/Aurum client records.

Sign-up

Example starting point
A fictional new member chooses a plan.
Expected outcome
Explain the offer before payment and show a clear next step after registration.
Owner
Membership lead

Payment confirmed

Example starting point
A provider-approved test confirms a payment.
Expected outcome
Only authoritative confirmation grants the intended access; repeated notifications are handled once.
Owner
Integration owner

Payment failed

Example starting point
A provider-approved failure fixture is used.
Expected outcome
Show an honest failure message and retry/support route without granting paid access.
Owner
Billing owner

Cancellation

Example starting point
A fictional active member requests cancellation.
Expected outcome
Confirmation and the access end date match the agreed policy and connected records.
Owner
Membership operations

App or CRM handoff

Example starting point
A confirmed test member needs linked access.
Expected outcome
The agreed identifier reaches the app/access provider; failed sync is visible to support.
Owner
Integration owner

Delayed confirmation

Example starting point
The return page opens before final status is known.
Expected outcome
Keep a pending state until authoritative confirmation; support can find the reference.

  1. Member chooses a plan
  2. Provider confirms payment
  3. Grant the intended access and check the handoff

Use an authoritative provider confirmation. A return-page visit alone does not establish payment.

Illustrative flow. No real payment, account or client system is changed.

Use this with your team

  1. List which system owns plans, payment status, access and member records.
  2. Adapt the expected outcomes to your provider setup and membership policies. Use approved test accounts and fictional details.
  3. Run the failure and cancellation cases as well as a normal sign-up, and keep the evidence with the handover.

Webflow: User Accounts sunsetWebflow’s native User Accounts was disabled in January 2026. A current membership brief needs an appropriate access or learning provider, with its responsibilities scoped explicitly.

Stripe: Checkout fulfilmentFor a custom Stripe integration, use authoritative server-side confirmation rather than relying on a return page. Other providers need their own supported process.

Before we get started

A few useful
questions.

Can this cover a gym site and an online fitness membership?

Yes, with different scope. Aurum shows a fitness website and trial-booking route; Body by Ciara shows membership, payment and connected-system work. We start with how people join or book and what the team needs to maintain.

Can Webflow handle memberships through native User Accounts?

Webflow’s native User Accounts functionality was disabled in January 2026. A current brief needs an appropriate membership/access provider or backend, with payment confirmation, permissions and support responsibilities scoped explicitly.

Can we keep our current booking or membership service?

We can review it first. The decision depends on supported features, account access, current records and the handoff you need. Improving the public website does not automatically require replacing a working provider.

Does a fitness website project include a new mobile app?

A mobile app is a separate scope. My Body by Ciara work included an app data handoff, but a new app still needs its own product requirements, permissions, release plan and ongoing ownership.

Your next chapter

Let’s make
it clearer.

Share your current fitness site, how people book or join, and the services handling payment and access. We can scope a clearer website or a workflow improvement around those journeys.
