The integration works through CodeREADr's webhook and API system. CodeREADr sends scan data via webhooks that you can route through an automation platform like Make or Zapier, or directly to a custom endpoint. Each scan fires a POST request with details like the barcode value, timestamp, device ID, and any custom fields. You can map this data to Webflow CMS Collections using Webflow's API, updating or creating items based on scan results. This creates a real-time bridge between physical scanning and your Webflow dashboard.
CodeREADr supports virtually every common barcode format: QR codes, UPC, EAN, Code 39, Code 128, Data Matrix, PDF417, Aztec, and many more. It can also scan driver's licenses for age verification and ID validation. All of these can feed data into your Webflow site through the integration pipeline, making it versatile for event management, retail, logistics, and access control use cases.
CodeREADr offers a web-based scanner that uses the device camera, which you can embed in your Webflow site via an iframe or direct JavaScript integration. This lets visitors scan barcodes without installing any app. For more advanced use cases, the CodeREADr mobile apps (iOS and Android) provide faster scanning with additional features like batch scanning, offline mode, and GPS tagging, all feeding into the same API pipeline connected to your Webflow data.
Absolutely. CodeREADr is built for high-volume scanning and has been used at events with tens of thousands of attendees. The webhook architecture means each scan is processed individually and independently, so there's no bottleneck. Your Webflow CMS can handle the resulting data updates at scale, though for extremely high-volume scenarios (hundreds of scans per second), you may want to batch updates through an intermediary queue to stay within Webflow API rate limits.
All communication between CodeREADr and your Webflow site happens over HTTPS. CodeREADr's API supports API key authentication, and you can add an extra layer by routing webhooks through a secure middleware service that validates requests before forwarding to Webflow's API. For sensitive data like driver's license scans or personal information, CodeREADr offers encrypted storage and you should ensure your Webflow CMS Collections have appropriate access controls configured.
